Day 1 arrival Beijing
You will be met at the arrival hall of the Beijing airport and brought to the hotel in the center of the city. After a short rest you will instantly have the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of this metropolis.
Day 2 Beijing
Today you will have a full day tour with car and English speaking guide: morning pick up from hotel, go to visit Lama tempel, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, back to hotel in the afternoon. Beijing was the capital of the last two imperial dynasties and thus has many monumental traces.

In the center of Beijing is the Forbidden City, the former home and workplace of the emperors and their immense court. Within the thick high walls one can spend hours wandering through the many palaces, pavilions and gardens. Above the entrance gate of the Forbidden City still hangs the huge portrait of Mao Zedong, which overlooks the immense Tiananmen Square. On and beside the square are the Mao Mausoleum, the National Museum and the Great Hall of the People.
Besides the Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City, you may also visit the Lama Temple. The Lama Temple is a good example of a Tibetan Buddhist temple. The building was first the personal palace of Emperor Yongzheng but was renamed Temple. Lamas mainly from Inner Mongolia come here a few times a year together for a service.

In the evening, you could have free time to enjoy the famous dish from the Beijing or Northern cuisine, Peking Duck, at one of the many Peking Duck restaurants in town. (The guide will give you some advice about the restaurant).  But time has not stood still. Beijing has now become a very modern city with newly designed skyscrapers, Western shopping malls, Internet cafes and fast cars. If you're interested, could ask advices from guide.
Day 3 Beijing
What would a trip to China be like without visiting the Great Wall?

Today, you will have a trip to the Great Wall. The excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu (about eighty kilometers outside the city and slightly less touristy) is literally one of the highlights of your visit to Beijing. As far as eye can reach, the Wall winds across the hills to the rugged and desolate landscape.

On the way back to the city you will visit the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan). This masterful summer residence is due to the desire of Emperor Qianlong and Empress Dowager Cixi.

In the evening you can take (optional) Beijing Opera or Kongfu Performance! Of course you can on your own explore the city further.
Day 4 Beijing - Xi'an
Today you take the high speed train (6 hours)  to Xi'an, the old imperial capital and start of the Silk Road.
In Xi'an you will still feel the influences of the different peoples and religions that have come along with the caravans from Central Asia. Xi'an, the former capital during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), was the terminus of the Silk Road caravans and center of international trade in East Asia. There are the atmospheric Grand Mosque and the Muslim eateries in the old neighborhood. The city wall has been completely restored as the Drum Tower and Bell Tower. There used to be these towers in every Chinese city, but mostly they were destroyed or lost over time.
Day 5 Xi'an
The main attraction is of course the Xi'an terracotta army, part of the tomb of Qin Shihuangdi, the first emperor of China. You will visit this place,  where you also will visit the Chinese and medicament spice market and the large Goose Pagoda, where the texts were stored by the Buddhist monk Xuan Zang who took them from India and translated.

In the famous Huimin street you are offered a food tour, to try all sorts of different kinds of food, from the (mainly) muslim population here.
Day 6 Xi'an - Chengdu
Today you take high speed train from Xi'an to Chengdu. On the way you could experience the speed of about 300km/h on the train, and also enjoy the vast view outside the wimdow of China land from north to the south.

Afternoon you're inthe capital of Sichuan, Chengdu.
Day 7 Chengdu
Early in the morning, you will visit the Panda breeding center on the outskirts of the city, where giant pandas walking around. Make sure you're there in the morning, because they eat then and that is a wonderful sight.
In the aftrenoon free time to explore Chengdu by yourself.
Day 8 Chengdu - Shanghai
You will fly to Shanghai today.
Shanghai is a big, bustling Chinese port with fourteen million people. The growth of Shanghai was launched after the Second Opium War (1842). The European powers had forced trade concessions and each established their own trading post in Shanghai. Walking in the streets of Shanghai's famous boulevard, the Bund, it sometimes seems as if you are in the old downtown Boston, London or Berlin. In the western part of Shanghai, a very modern and flourishing city, there is a venerable and famous Buddhist temple, Jade Buddha Temple. In 1882, an old temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen. The two precious jade Buddhist statues are not only rare cultural relics but also porcelain artworks. Both the Sitting Buddha and the Recumbent Buddha are carved with whole white jade.Yu garden today is a veritable jungle of architectural structures. The entire place is hidden in the rich verdure of trees and plants. Ancients praised it as the "best garden in Southeast China".Situated within the Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, with a giddy height of 468 meters, is the world's third tallest TV tower after the 553-meter CN Tower in Toronto and the 535-meter Moscow TV Tower. With a unique design composed of balls and columns, the tower has become Shanghai's newest landmark and a big magnet for tourists.
Day 9 Shanghai / bike tour
Today you will explore Shanghai in a 3 hour (join-in) bike tour. Take a taxi or metro to the bike shop, the bike tour guide will meet you there and help you to get the bikes, then the guide will take you visit former French Concession area, cycling through the back alleys to see some lilong and Shikumen architecture, local park and market, temple, as well as local people's lifestyle and their culture.
